Reports: ND354280-ND3: Chiral Iridium Pincer Complexes for Catalytic Asymmetric Hydrogen Transfer Processes

David S. Glueck, Dartmouth College

In order to study catalytic asymmetric hydrogen transfer processes, we are investigating the synthesis of chiral iridium pincer complexes, such as 1.  Preparation of the target catalyst precursors has required optimization of literature syntheses of chiral phospholane starting materials, such as secondary phosphine(borane) 2, silylphosphine 3, and chlorophosphine 4, and exploration of the scope of these reactions (which R groups can be used?)
