Students
IChO competitors will stay at the University of Maryland, College Park (UMCP), in College Park, MD. The students will be housed in UMCP residence halls and eat in campus dining rooms. The university offers suite-style lodging where several bedrooms share a common bathroom and living room.
Mentors and Observers
Mentors and observers will stay in the Capital Hilton Hotel. The Capital Hilton is located just two blocks from the White House and less than one mile from the Smithsonian museums and Washington monument. The University of Maryland, College Park, where the Olympiad will be held is about a 30 minute drive northeast of the Capital Hilton Hotel.
Pre and Post Olympiad
The 44th IChO Organizing Committee has made special arrangements with the The Westin Washington, D.C. City Center for delegations that need accommodations prior to and after the 44th International Chemistry Olympiad, July 19th, July 20th and July 30th 2012.
The Committee has reserved forty double rooms for guests arriving July 19th and departing July 21st, and an additional forty rooms for guests arriving July 20th and departing July 21st. Eleven rooms have also been reserved for those that need reservations the night of July 31st departing August 1st. The Westin Washington, D.C. City Center is a short walking distance from the Capital Hilton Hotel, where mentors, observers and guests will be accommodated during the Olympiad.
The Westin Washington has offered visiting delegations a special rate of 119 USD per night for both single and double rooms. Reservations for this room will be first come, first served. If your delegation wishes to reserve accommodations for before or after the Olympiad at this rate, it is critical you complete the below form and submit it to Icho2012@acs.org before or by the final deadline: May 15th 2012.
