Jimmy Mays, University of Tennessee
The symposium on “Polymer Surfaces and Interfaces: Loops, Branches, and Brushes” was held at the Spring 2008 annual National ACS Meeting in New Orleans, LA. The symposium consisted of 5 half day sessions with the individual sessions focused on the five topics, “theory, modeling, simulation”, “synthesis”, “analysis and characterization”, “modification of surfaces”, and “reactive modification of polymer interfaces”. The attendance at the symposium was excellent, with estimated attendance of 600 over the entire symposium.
The speakers supported with ACS/PRF funds, $600 each, are:
· Dr. Georgios Sakellariou, University of Athens, Greece
· Dr. Marcus Müller, Georg-August Universität, Germany
· Prof. Dr. M. Ballauff, University of Bayreuth, Germany
· Dr. Christian Seidel, Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces, Germany
· Prof. Dr. Manfred Stamm, Leibniz-Institut fuer Polymerforschung Dresden e.V. (IPF), Germany
