About the Annual Report: An overview of the grants and awards PRF authorized in 2008, as well as details about program operations. In 2008, the ACS Petroleum Research Fund committed to new grants totaling more than $23 million. As a result, the Fund now supports a total of more than 1,200 active grants – enabling ongoing, innovative research at colleges and universities in the United States and elsewhere. This report provides an overview of the grants, fellowships, and sabbaticals that were active in 2008. These include active research grants in over 400 colleges and universities in the United States, as well as others in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, Lebanon, Mexico, The Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, and the United Kingdom. As a service to other investigators, scientists, and engineers, the report also explains the various types of grants available, funding criteria, the ACS PRF Advisory Board, and other program details.
