ACS Governance

A Board of Directors and a Council govern ACS. The Board consists of 15 elected members and the ACS executive director. It meets at least four times a year and is the legal representative of the Society, administering property, funds, and affairs, as well as setting ACS policy. Almost 5OO voting members form the Council, which functions as an adviser to the Board of Directors. Local sections and divisions elect councilors. The Council convenes twice a year at ACS national meetings.
