The National Historic Chemical Landmarks Program Introduction To assist groups in preparing a nomination and conducting a designation ceremony, the National Historic Chemical Landmarks Program (NHCLP) Committee has produced two online guides: Nominating a Landmark and Celebrating a Landmark Designation. The format enables you to download or print any part of either guide and make it available to members of your local section, division, or committee. Nominating a Landmark details the overall program and nominating process. Celebrating a Landmark Designation presents practical information that will help you through every stage of a designation process. In addition to the two guides, About the Program describes the mission, goals, and criteria for a landmark designation, and International Landmarks lays out the requirements for a nomination from outside the United States. The American Chemical Society and the members of the NCHLP Committee look forward to working with you and your members. Please do not hesitate to contact us at any point in the process, from preparing and submitting a nomination to staging a commemorative ceremony.
