The Community Event

The Community Event for Chemists Celebrate Earth Day 2006 is "Plant It for the Planet." Celebrate the chemistry of the soil and plants by hosting activities that will benefit the community like planting flowers, trees, grass, etc.  This activity will bring the community together for a fun-filled day!

Help Avogadro and Meg A. Mole find the best place to plant flower seeds making sure to consider all the different environmental conditions around Moleville, U.S.A.

Celebrate with hands-on activities and articles relating to the 2006 Earth Day theme.
Enjoy the Earth Day Edition of Celebrating Chemistry with activities, articles and games.
Illustrated Haiku Contest - competition for children in Kindergarten - 12th grade.
Video Contest - video competition for college and university students.
Chemists Celebrate Earthday Patch Program
Plant It for the Planet" Chemists Celebrate Earthday is a community-based program of the Office of Community Activities. This annual event unites ACS local section, businesses, schools, and individuals in communicating the importance of chemistry to our quality of life.
