  Chemists Celebrate Earth Day - 2006
Kindergarten-12th Grade
Illustrated Haiku Contest
"Dig It!"
 
Contest Guidelines

As part of Chemists Celebrate Earth Day 2006 and in recognition of its theme, "Dig It!", the American Chemical Society is sponsoring an illustrated haiku contest for students in Kindergarten - 12th grade. Students are invited to produce an illustrated haiku poem demonstrating the theme "Dig It!" and should reflect some aspect of soil, dirt or plants.

Official Contest Rules and Guidelines*

Only local section winners will be considered for the national competition. Rules and guidelines for competitions in your area can be obtained from your CCED Coordinator.

Prizes for National Competition
First Place $150 amazon.com gift certificate & a Chemists Celebrate Earth Day wristband
Second Place $75 amazon.com gift certificate & a Chemists Celebrate Earth Day wristband
Teachers of Winning Students 1 year subscription to the Journal of Chemical Education
